NAILS was brutally awesome last night at The Blvd Cafe (tiny shit hole bar out in Boyle Heights). A surge of energy explodes from them and one can't help but feed off the adrenaline filling up the room. By the end, I was covered in sweat - both mine and that of all the fat, smelly dudes pushing and slamming against me the whole time. Although I was constantly fighting off the convulsing crowd in our small, filled to capacity room, the crushing blows from flying elbows were not enough to deter me from fully enjoying every moment of it. :o) Here they are in all their glory:
There was another fairly decent band in the line up, but we didn't get any pics of them. The other bands were boring and failed to perk my interest. Ceremony was just as horrible as the first time I saw them. I had decided to give them a second chance since their fans seem to get so riled up by their music. I still don't comprehend. Their technicality is greatly lacking. Their choruses are meant to be catchy, but all I could hear in every song was "PUT YOUR BALLS ON MY FACE". Fucking queers. Without the choruses, all they have is blank noise without rhythm or reason. The teenage crowd was too much for me to deal with and I squeezed my way toward the back door after the third song. Here's a few pics from their lame set:
